Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 1st, 2009 for Brent Fest 2009, THE music festival of the summer! Come out and enjoy live music*, great food, and exciting children’s activities from 11 am to 5 pm at the NEW Brent Johnson Memorial Park, just off of route 47 north in Mahomet. The Brent Fest will have a silent auction, inflatable’s, frozen custard, burgers, BBQ and much more! It will be a great day for the entire family. A raffle will also be held to raise money for the park playground and the development of the park. Check out the line-up of performers!

Enjoy top musicians and performers during this year's 'Nothin' But the Blues Festival' Friday and Saturday, July 17th and 18th, 2009 at the Tri-Lakes in Bloomington. The blues festival has grown from a single day event to a two day 5,000 plus attendee extravaganza. This is where some of the biggest names in blues come to play. Saturday is always a good day for the whole family cause of the numerous things they have for the children of our blues lovers. If you're bringing kids, come early cause those activities end at 5:00pm. Food vendors include BBQ, fish, ribs, corn dogs, and ice cream. For blues music lovers this is an event not to miss!
Every summer, a collection of theatre professionals and interns unite in Bloomington-Normal to create a dynamic environment, one dedicated not only to education but also the enthusiastic creation of performing art. The Illinois Shakespeare Festival exemplifies a long-established tradition of professional theatre devoted to performing the plays of William Shakespeare. This summer, the Illinois Shakepeare Festival performs 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Scapin' and 'Richard III' from Thursday, June 25th to Saturday, August 8th, 2009. The Festival's impact on the theatre world has been recognized in media and scholarly journals from Bloomington to Chicago, New York, and back in Shakespeare's home country, England.
The McLean County Arts Center welcomes everyone to the 26th Annual Sugar Creek Arts Festival Saturday and Sunday, July 11th - 12th, 2009 from 10 am to 5 pm. Bring your family and friends to a great combination of art, food, fun and live entertainment. Due to construction in Uptown Normal, this years Festival will be held on the ISU quad. Vendors now will start on North Street west Fell Avenue, continue west on North and go onto the ISU quad. The Fest will feature 130 artists, about 25 more than last year. The food area will be in the parking lot adjacent to the Alamo II bookstore. Children's Discovery Museum activities will be between Watterson Towers cafeteria and the Alamo parking lot. Entertainment will be on the ISU quad. Come share the fun!
Miller Park Summer Theatre presents 'Seussical', a musical based on an amalgamation of many of Seuess's most famous books. Come see your favorite Dr. Seuss characters brought to life including the Cat in the Hat, Horton the elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, and all of the Whos of Whoville! Debuting on Broadway in 2000, 'Seussical' free performances begin at 7:30 pm, Friday through Sunday, July 17 – 19, 24 – 26, and July 31 - Aug. 2, 2009 at the Miller Park Bandstand. Come share the fun!
